filmclub

In this increasingly visual and technological age - Cinema holds a key position in the entertainment world, as people flock to their local multiplex to be entertained, amazed and challenged.

Stories are a key element of all of our lives and we believe that God is the master storyteller.

Key elements of the gospel message include examples of love, redemption, forgiveness and sacrifice. It is not by coincidence that these elements also pop up regularly in hollywood as major themes in the films of today.

Our aim is to explore the tales from modern cinema, in order to identify elements that excite us, challenge us and also point us towards the narrative story of the gospel.

We watch the film - then discuss our thoughts, feelings and opinions - before finishing off with a Barton Film Club "Mark out of 10". (end approx 10.30pm)

Film Club meets on the last Monday of every month (8pm at Barton Road)
