Building a community to reach a community

Home Groups are essential to the life of our church community here at Barton. They are one of the best places to deepen relationships and to provide mutual support and encouragement.

Each week groups of 10-12 people meet together in various homes around Canterbury for Bible study, discussion, prayer and sharing.

Home Groups normally meet for a couple of hours every Wednesday or Thursday evening, with lunches and other social activities being arranged by the individual groups.

Every group is different but the aims are the same:

  • to learn and grow together in our personal relationships with God
  • to care for and support each other
  • to enrich the church community through identifying and encouraging the use of each other’s gifts
  • to equip each other for reaching out to those around us

Home Group leaders are:

Roger Burr  Wednesday evenings
Jonathan and Rachel Gauton   Wednesday evenings
Ian and Hilary McNair   Wednesday evenings
Tim and Liz Jenkins   Wednesday evenings
Simeon and Alice Corfield   Thursday evenings
Jon and Charlotte Hitchcock  Thursday evenings
Olly and Marie Noble  Thursday evenings

Home Groups are a place to know and be known, a place to belong. We strongly encourage everyone to be part of one.
